Gutter Topper

If you are looking for gutter topper you are either looking for gutter guards with the brand name of Gutter Topper or just any gutter guard. Sometimes, when a brand such as the Gutter Topper becomes really popular, people use it to refer to all products, which have a similar function. Why do people get a gutter topper in their home? If your house is under a lot of trees your gutters will undoubtedly clog and cease to function properly. If they don’t work as well as they should you risk damaging the landscaping you have around the perimeter of your house (in the form of dead flowers and disfigured soil), ruining your gutters, flooding on the outside of your house, and flooding on the inside of the house. A lot of people resort to having their gutters cleaned once a year from a company who specializes in gutter cleaning for around $80-$130. Other people install gutter guards or gutter covers, which go for around $1,000-$2,000. Because permanent gutter toppers cost a lot more than having people clean them for you every so often, many just opt to get their gutters cleaned from gutter cleaning businesses. However, if you buy a gutter topper you are increasing the value of your home because you are essentially making it gutter free for the rest of its life. You also don’t have to worry about procrastinating about getting them cleaned. If you don’t hire anyone to clean the leaves and debris for you and do the cleaning yourself, you can save yourself the worry of having to see your loved one(s) at the edge of your roof. In short, it saves you the hassle of having to worry about clogged gutters.

Depending on what gutter topper price you get, you can expect to pay off the cost of your gutter systems in 5-10 years. Let’s say you get a couple cleanings from a gutter cleaning specialist each year for $150. If you buy a leaf topper system for $1,000, it will take you 7 years to break even. Although 7 years may seem like a long time, you don’t want to be telling yourself, 7 years from now, if only I had bought one of those gutter systems… Despite this hypothetical situation you should know that some companies charge in the neighborhood of $2,500 to get gutter toppers of “professional quality and installation”. It’s not that hard to figure out that if your gutter guard system is in the neighborhood of several thousand dollars, you are better off just investing the money and hiring someone to clean your gutters. Regardless, some people will buy these systems despite their gutter topper cost because they are tired of having to deal with their gutters year after year. And, hey, if you have enough money, why not?

How does Gutter Topper work? This product relies on surface tension. Water goes onto the curved surface and into the gutter. And debris just flies out of your roof and onto the ground, keeping debris from forming in your gutters.

If you want to install a Gutter Topper in your house it can be helpful to know what other options you have…

Check out your local home improvement store as they have leaf protection or gutter guard systems for really cheap.

Gutter Topper, along with Gutter Helmet are the two main brands when it comes to gutter protection. Aside from these two manufacturers you can check out Gutter Pro, Leaf Filter, Gutter Filter, and Gutter Cap.

But is Gutter Topper the best? What about Gutter Topper reviews? Is the Gutter Topper cost worth it? If you search for Gutter Topper review on your favorite search engine you aren’t going to find many results. Despite this fact, seeing that Gutter Topper is one of the best brands, it is safe to say that it is effective in keeping your gutters clean. Like with all gutter guards, the main gutter topper complaints is that it does not stop everything. Although it will stop large debris, small particles will eventually get under the guards. Furthermore, during the winter time, ice will eventually get into you gutters. One of the things which separates this specific product from others (and perhaps makes the Gutter Topper cost more reasonable) is the fact that this product blends into your roof and makes it look even better.

Tim Carter, the star of Askthebuilder.com, seems to be the online authority for gutter guards because he has reviews for pretty much all of them. Although he never mentions the Gutter Topper of his site, he did say that gutter stoppers with a roof like presence are, like every other gutter cleaner product, not perfect. In other words, you’re still going to have to clean them. If not in 2 years, maybe in 4 or 5 years.

topper mad 2 years ago

We have gutter toppers and have had nothing but trouble with them since they were installed. There are little trees growing out of them already and they have only been up 6 months. We have a waterfall at the downspout every time it rains and no one wants to fix the problem (these things were not cheap).

We have the same problem as topper mad Identical! We will have to remove the toppers. It's going to cost us almost the same amount as it did to buy them. NOT HELP FROM GUTTER TOPPERS IN CANADA OR THE HEAD OFFICE IN THE US.

It's not Gutter Topper's problem that 'topper mad' is sighting. His problem is Mother Nature. Where seeds have an option to get to and grow, they will grow. Sounds like he needs to get a long wand on a sprayer and spray the little buggers with 'Roots and All' or a similar product. I had Gutter Topper installed, but found that they were useless for fir needles. Gutter Topper came out, removed the Gutter Helmet style Topper and replaced it with a different design that works great. The replacement has been on for 2 years now. It is a loovered, ribbed sheet metal cover.

RainTube is a unique gutter protection system that is rather simple and highly effective. I was installing some just yesterday and I noticed that the grit from the roof did not enter through the small slots that are one way for the rain water. Instead in traveled down the slippery side of the tube and never enters the closed channel created by the RainTube fitted snugly in the existing gutters. It is affordable and awarded a gold certification for sustainability by a few green industry sites making it the greenest building material that there is!

I live in the woods, and have every kind of tree know to man around my house. I have had Gutter Topper on my home for four years. Not once have I had to get on a ladder to clean out the inside of the gutter, but since I live in the woods I do spray off the nose of the tooper to keep it clean. Not a big deal since i can do this from the ground.

Gutter Topper is a racket. In order to validate your warranty, nobody else can touch the gutter toppers. We had to have a new roof replaced and Gutter Topper said they would have to come out and remove / reinstall the guards themselves rather than have our roofer do it. Fine except then they sent a bill for $350 to do that. Had to get a roof installed 3 years after that and now we need only 8 foot new gutter guards and now they want $600 to come out and install the guards themselves again. I would NEVER, ever buy these again. The company is set up to keep you continually buying /paying for their service. Its a rip off!

we have gutter topper. while the product does seem to keep the leaves, etc. out of the gutter, our local installer's customer service is terrible. we have a leak on the end of one of the gutters. There was an adjuster over who agreed that this was a problem and vowed to get someone over to fix it right away. this was eleven months ago. we have called several times since and are reassured each time that someone will be out but noone has showed up. once they get your money (and alot of it) they are done with you. i wouldn't purchase the product again.

We have had Gutter Topper on our home for over 10 yrs with no problems, just like an automobile that sits outside it does need washed occasionally with a garden hose & nozzle. As far as the complaints that Gutter Topper will not warrant if altered by any other contractor, this only makes good business sense. Would you warrant workmanship performed by someone other than you? Impossible! We absolutely love our toppers and we have more than 15 maple trees as well as a variety of over 10 other trees within 150ft of our home.

The problem is not the product but the improper instillation. That is a company issue.
